Pharmaceutically compliant blister machines

A blister packaging machine first forms the blister pockets using thermoforming or cold forming, fills them precisely with the product and seals the blisters with a lid foil using roller or plate sealing. The blisters are then punched to the desired format, while sensors and cameras check the filling and sealing. Defective blisters are automatically rejected. The finished packaging is then sent for further processing, for example to a cartoning machine.

The speed depends on the machine type. Our fastest blister machine, the B1880, has a maximum output of 1300 blisters per minute. However, flexible models for smaller batches also offer an output of several hundred blisters per minute.

Plate sealing takes place intermittently with a constant sealing time – regardless of the number of cycles. It is ideal for larger aluminum yards, calendar packaging and special lid foils, including peel and peel-push blisters. Precise laser control of the blister pockets ensures exact tool positioning and optimum sealing.

Roller sealing works continuously with rotating rollers and is suitable for all common film types, especially for standard blisters with round tablets or capsules. It enables a high packaging speed and reduces film shrinkage thanks to a cooled index roller. Optional lid foil preheating also facilitates the processing of peel-push films.

A blister machine fulfills the requirements of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) through validated processes, precise control systems and complete traceability. Sensors and cameras monitor filling, sealing and print quality in real time, while all production steps are documented. Defective blisters are automatically rejected.
